While outdoor movies are one thing, watching them in the serene surrounds of the Northern Eucalypt Lawn at the Australian National Botanic Gardens is something else again. Situated at the foot of Black Mountain, the Gardens are an experience in themselves. The natural bush amphitheatre provides the perfect backdrop for IMB Bank Sunset Cinema and this afterdark garden experience is one not to be missed.
Main Carpark - Clunies Ross St. Acton (just off Parkes Way)
There is ample parking available in the main carpark of the National Botanic Gardens. On busier nights, you may be directed to park in the overflow carpark however all vehicular entry is via the main gate.
The Sunset site is located at the Northern Eucalypt Lawn inside the National Botanic Gardens. It's a 5-10-min walk on sealed footpaths for an able bodied person from the carpark to the event site and involves some inclines.
Sunset Cinema has a mobility vehicle available for the elderly or those with a mobility impairment. Simply wait at the top of the carpark where you see the A-Frame sign and call the mobile number to arrange a pickup. This service will also be able to drop you back to the car park after the screening has finished.
The terrain on the Northern Eucalypt Lawn is uneven and inclined. You will need to assess if additional assistance is required for you to navigate this terrain.
Please email us at so we can arrange for the mobility impaired toilet to be unlocked for you on the night (we keep it locked to keep it clean for you) and put in place any other plans we need to to make your night memorable for all the right reasons.
