Gates open at 7PM. The film starts at last light, you can check out when the sun sets HERE. As we are an outdoor cinema we need it to be dark for the film to be visible on the screen.

We recommend arriving early to get the best spot possible as we often fill up. It also gives you time grab your food & drinks and settle in for the film.

Absolutely, but not on their own. Sunset Cinema is the perfect place to enjoy a family night out or entertainment the kids for a few hours. However, we are a fully licensed event and all children ages 17 & under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Also, be aware that we sometimes show films classified MA15+ (for the adults) which require children under 15 to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

To fully enjoy your Sunset Cinema experience, we suggest the following things:

– Layering up or bringing a blanket for those chillier summer nights.

– Insect repellent to keep those mozzies away!

– If you haven’t hired any seating then you are more than welcome to bring you own rugs, pillows, lawn chairs ect. Just be aware that taller chairs will be restricted to the back of the grounds so that everyone can see the screen.

– If it looks like it’s going to rain then a poncho is recommended as we will only cancel the session if the weather becomes heavy and dangerous. We will also have a limited amount of Ponchos and blankets available on-site. No open umbrellas are allowed during the screening.

– Friends, Family or Dates; Sunset Cinema is best enjoyed with others!

We love to see your snaps at Sunset Cinema. You can share them on Instagram with us by tagging @thesunsetcinema and using #imasunsetter & #sunsetcinema so we can see & repost them.

However, we request that no professional recording equipment or flash photography is used during the film.

You can purchase your tickets online. Simply select your session from our PROGRAM and then your tickets.

We also have a box office which is open the night of the screening but tickets and seating are subject to availability and cheaper if purchased online.

Yes. Simply show your tickets displayed on your phone at the gate. You can even save them to your apple wallet. Just make sure you have them ready before you reach the gate to avoid unnecessary queues.

We understand that sometimes life can get in the way of a pre-planned night at Sunset Cinema. If you would like to swap your tickets to another session, simply:

• Go to your Sunset Cinema ACCOUNT and login
• Click ‘list tickets’
• Select the tickets you would like to swap and select ‘exchange’
• Follow the prompts to choose another session.

There is a $1 exchange fee on all tickets (excl seating). Tickets cannot be exchanged for a transaction that is lesser value than the original. Tickets can only be exchanged up until 5 days before the session time. Unfortunately tickets & seating are non-refundable.

You are able to exchange your tickets to another session. However, refunds are not available if you are no longer able to attend or change your mind.

General admission for children under 4 is free. They do not require any type of ticket for general admission. However, if you want them to have a bean bag or entry to the Lawn Lounge then you will need to purchase these.

The Lawn Lounge is our premium package to experience Sunset Cinema the best way possible. It includes your admission ticket ($20), reserved bean lounger in a prime spot, a beverage and a popcorn.

You will also have a waiter dedicated to your area who will be able to take any orders for you up until the film commences.

We’d love for you to check out the Lawn Lounge! Simply follow the instructions above for exchanging tickets, make sure you also exchange any seating originally purchased. You will then pay the difference on checkout. Also note that there is a $1 exchange fee on your tickets.

Our ticketing provider charges a $1.30 booking fee per admission ticket and an 1 – 1.5% credit card fee on the total transaction. If you decide to exchange your ticket then there is also a $1 exchange fee for tickets (excl seating).

We recognise most concession and carers cards. If you have a concession card; including full time student, senior and government issued pension/ health cards, then choose the concession ticket. If you have a carers card then you are entitled to 1 complimentary ticket, simply show your card at the box office to gain entry. To redeem a discount code or ticket voucher/complimentary pass (excluding Gift Cards) simply:

• Select your preferred screening
• Enter your unique Code and Validate
• Select your discounted or complimentary ticket and Add To Cart
• Follow to prompts to proceed to checkout and complete the transaction

Please check the terms and conditions of each voucher as they may differ.

If we cancel your screening we will:

• SMS the mobile number of the person who booked your ticket (hopefully they’ll share this with you if that wasn’t you).
• Put a CANCELLED message across the screening page on the website.
• Post a Facebook message.
• Email the person who booked your ticket with instructions on how to exchange your tickets (see next FAQ)

Is it on or off?? That is the question! Always assume it’s on unless you hear from us. A decision to cancel will normally not be made before 4pm and can sometimes be made even after we’ve opened the gates – such is the nature of trying to predict what the weather will do and whether it will make for a terrible/unsafe night of outdoor cinema. We’ll obviously make a decision as soon as we’re confident one way or the other.

We’ve got free ponchos for Sunsetters if some drizzle catches us before/during a movie but always worthwhile packing a jacket just in case.Please remember – weather can be tricky as what the forecasts/radar tell us & what the sky tells us can often vary significantly. There is also the vagaries of weather which factor in to our decision making when it comes to pushing ahead or cancelling a screening. Sometimes the weather during the day of a screening can be terrible & then it can clear up to be a beautiful night and vice versa.

Damn! We had to cancel the screening. You would have received a text message & email from us, in that email there will be instructions on how to exchange your tickets. If you did not receive these instructions then simply head to your ACCOUNT and follow the exchange process above. Don’t worry, you won’t get charged an exchange fee for a cancelled session.

No. Sunset Cinema is a fully licensed event with alcohol only available if purchased at our Snack Bar on-site.

Of course! Nothing beats a good picnic spread under the stars. You can also bring non-alcoholic drinks. We also have a range of food vendors onsite if you’d rather pack light.

There is a fantastic range of food and drinks available every screening night. Ranging from popcorn, sweets, non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks at our Snack Bar to hot meal options at one of our food vendors.

We like to keep Sunset Cinemas smoke-free. However, if you have too, we have a designated location away from the seated area. Please make sure you appropriately dispose of your cigarette butt/s.

In the event of a total fire ban, no smoking will be permitted.

Sadly no. As much as we love our furry friends, we have restrictions set by our venues. We hope that in the future we can revisit this restriction.

Disability parking is available on-site. There is a path that leads from the parking to the cinema set-up. It can be a bit of a distance, if assistance is needed then please feel free to contact us at info@sunsetcinema.com.au and we can arrange our Venue Manager to assist you on the night.

Unfortunately due to the technical requirements of outdoor cinema we are unable to offer any closed caption or audio descriptive screenings.

If you’re still on-site and can’t find something, report it to one of our staff and leave your details.

We have a range of seating options available to hire online and sometimes at the venue. CLICK HERE to see the range. We recommend purchasing them early online as they often sell-out.

Of course, picnic rugs, pillows and lawn chairs are welcome at Sunset Cinema. We want you to be as comfy as possible! However, if your seating is high and will restrict other’s viewing then we do ask that you sit towards the back of the grounds.
